Arnold and Kimbrel Take Top Spot in Brassie

Stacey Arnold and D’Ann Kimbrel of Broken Tee Englewoood combined efforts and played two steady rounds of golf to win the 2009 CWGA Brassie Championship with a nine-under total of 135. The team shot under par both days with impressive rounds of 67 and 68. The duo gained a three-stroke advantage over the field with their play for round one, and with six birdies on day two, Arnold and Kimbrel were able to hold their ground for the win. Janet Moore and Christie Austin of Cherry Hills CC were five strokes back after day one’s play, but Moore and Austin teamed up for seven birdies in round two to rapidly climb into position to vie for their third Brassie title. However, Moore and Austin finished two strokes behind Arnold and Kimbrel, having shot 72 and 65 (137 total).
