The Ranch CC defeated Foothills GC in a one hole playoff to win their first CWGA Club Team Championship at Glenmoor CC. The Ranch CC consisted of Virginia Love, Pat Probst, Joyce Kaylor and Janine Corcoran who shot a team score of 383, including the playoff hole. The Foothills team of Mary Doyen, Marilyn Heustis, Marty Hall and Judi Hart came up three strokes short in the playoff to finish with a total team score of 386. The Ranch CC had a steady 18-hole round until two of the four team members recorded an unwanted 9 and 10 on the last hole giving them a final 18-hole score of 356. Foothills GC, on the other hand, had a solid round of scores and came into the clubhouse also firing a 356. Both teams were surprised to hear that they would be competing in a playoff for the championship title.
In 2005 The Ranch CC was in also in playoff for the Club Team title then competing against Overland GC and Heritage Eagle Bend G & CC. Overland prevailed, leaving The Ranch CC without a win. The 2008 playoff was The Ranch’s time to shine, and the challenge began on playoff hole number one. The Ranch CC put all their drives right down the center of the fairway. The team holed out with a final score of 18. Foothills, meanwhile, had some trouble teeing off. One of the four shots went out of bounds, while another landed on the cart path where relief put the player and her ball on the side of a hill. Foothills fought hard, but regrettably, they shot a team score of 21, giving The Ranch CC their much deserved Club Team title.
