Robert Polk of Colorado GC fired an even-par 70 in the final round to finish at three-under par 207 to win the CGA Senior Stroke Play Championship at Greeley Country Club. Polk dominated the event winning by nine strokes over last year’s runner-up Richard Gorbell of Springs Ranch GC and Doug Phelps of Foothills GC. This is his second individual state title in three years as he won this event in 2005, and this is his second CGA victory this year as he won the CGA Senior Four-Ball Championship in May with partner Steve Murphy of Black Bear GC. Bob Heiny of Highland Hills GC finished fourth at 217 and earned the Super Senior Division title.
Robert Polk’s name will be engraved for the second time on the Warren Simmons trophy which will be displayed at Colorado Golf Club until the 2008 event.
