Colorado Academy graduate Mark Hubbard of Denver shot 70 in the final round for an even-par 216 total to win the CGA Junior Stroke Play Championship at Ute Creek Golf Course. Hubbard made four birdies against only two bogies to win by two strokes. The win was Hubbard’s first CGA individual title, but not his first significant victory. In 2006, he won both the Optimist International Championship and the CJGA Tournament of Champions. Hubbard will attend San Jose State University in the fall.
Parker Edens of Greeley Central HS also shot 70 in the final round to finish second at 218. Finishing third was Oliver Grabb from Boulder HS who shot 74 in the final round to finish at 220. 2006 champion and CGA Junior Player of the Year Tyler Parsloe of Littleton shot 72 in the final round to finish fourth at 222.
