It didn’t take former University of Colorado golfer Brittany Fan long to find success as a professional.
Fan (left) won her pro debut on Friday by prevailing in a playoff at a Cactus Tour event in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Fan, who won a college tournament in March and finished 42nd in the Women’s NCAA Division I Championship finals in May, posted rounds of 69-70-72 this week for a 5-under-par 211 total. That left her in a tie at the top of the leaderboard with amateur Katie Yoo of Orlando.
In the playoff, Fan and Yoo parred the first extra hole and birdied the second. Then Fan prevailed with a birdie on the third playoff hole.
