The raffle winner, and their guest, will stay and play six rounds with caddies at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort on their choice of five distinctly different courses that “”¦have been conceived in harmony with the natural environment. They combine with all the essential elements to reveal a new golf experience every time you play. The soul of the game resides here. Players walk. And at the end of the day, gracious hospitality comforts each guest like a warm, friendly embrace.” In addition to free golf, caddies and accommodations, the winner receives $500 towards travel and $500 complimentary food & beverage at the resort.
If you’re thinking this sounds too good to be true, just ask last year’s winner–CGA member, Ted Eckles! Here is Ted pictured at left, with his lucky golf buddy Bob Boxwell, taken on his favorite hole, number 16 at the Bandon Dunes course. According to Ted, “Bandon was over the top wonderful – I purchased more tickets this year in hopes to go again,” said Ted. Here are a few additional thoughts from Dream Golf Vacation winner Ted Eckles.
Was getting there easy?
“United was great – no problems or delays and our clubs made it (most importantly!). The weather the whole time we were there (September ’16) was great – thus helping United getting in and out of North Bend.”
How was the Resort?
“I couldn’t believe the attention to detail; the employees wanted to drop everything to help us out. For example: One morning we ran out of coffee in our room so we went out to catch the bus to the lodge for breakfast. An electrician drove by and asked us how our stay was going. We happened to mention we ran out of coffee – he took to action and came back with coffee for our room. We know this wasn’t within his job description, but he went beyond his duty in making sure our stay was top notch. I give Bandon a 10 out of 10 score.”
How was the Golf?
“We loved all the courses. I’d have to say I enjoyed Bandon Dunes the best ““ but ALL WERE GREAT!!!!!!!” Ted went on to call it “”¦the best trip ever – Disney Land for Golfers – including more than 5-star service!”

All proceeds from the Bandon Dunes Raffle go toward our Solich Caddie and Leadership Academy. Founded in 2012 at CommonGround Golf Course, the Academy creates opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills and enhance character through a foundation built around caddying.
Through a two-year summer caddie-training program, young men and women have the unique opportunity to learn and benefit from the game of golf through caddying. More than 50 caddies are selected annually to join the Academy upon completion of their 8th grade year. Young men and women are selected based on financial need, academic achievement and personal character. While caddying is the focus, student caddies are also required to attend weekly leadership meetings and fulfill a community service requirement by volunteering with community partners who host golf programs at the Colorado Golf Association’s home course, CommonGround Golf Course. Following the completion of this program they are placed into successful caddie programs in the Denver Metro Area.
