Former University of Colorado golfer Sebastian Heisele finished fourth Sunday in the Open de Portugal, marking his best showing ever in a European Tour event.
The 28-year-old German posted rounds of 64-70-71-72 for a 15-under-par 277 total. That left him six strokes behind champion Matt Wallace of England. The showing was worth 23,100 euros for Heisele, giving him 79,051 euros for the season, good for 114th place on the season money list.
Heisele has recorded top-20 finishes each of his last two starts on the European Tour, where he’s a rookie.
Elsewhere in professional tour golf this past week, former CU golfer Alexis Keating placed third at The Cactus Tour’s Las Colinas-Dallas Cup in Queen Creek, Ariz. Keating carded rounds of 64-70-68 for a 14-under-par 202 total, leaving her three shots behind winner Kyung Kim of Chandler, Ariz.
