Moving On

One of the four NCAA Division I women’s golf programs based in Colorado will have a new head coach next season.

Stephen Bidne (pictured) announced this week that he’s leaving his University of Northern Colorado position to become head coach of the women’s team at the University of Hawaii.

Bidne, 28, the 2010 America Sky Conference Co-Player of the Year while at Northern Colorado, became the UNC women’s head coach in 2013. The Bears are currently ranked No. 140 in the nation by both Golfweek and Golfstat. They finished fifth out of 12 teams at the recent Big Sky Conference Championship.

“It truly has been a privilege and an honor to coach at my alma mater for the last four years,” Bidne said. “… To see how far the program has come during my tenure is something I am very proud of.”

Before becoming UNC’s head coach, Bidne played on PGA Tour Canada in 2012 and ’13.
