Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Kim Eaton added another state title to her considerable list on Friday by winning the open-age-division championship in the Arizona Women’s Golf Association State Amateur Stroke Play.
It was the second AWGA State Amateur Stroke Play title for Eaton, who recently turned 57. Overall, she has claimed 22 CWGA championships, 11 in her new home state of Arizona, and one in California.
This time around, Eaton shot rounds of 79-76-77 at Torreon Golf Club in Show Low, Ariz., and won in a playoff against Montana State University golfer Natassja Meredith.
Earlier this summer, Eaton won her third CWGA Senior Match Play, this one at Aurora Hills Golf Course. She has been the CWGA Senior Player of the Year five times and the Player of the Year four. She’s been a quarterfinalist in the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur four times.
