Nick Nosewicz of Aurora posted the best finish by a Coloradan at the Pacific Coast Amateur since 2012 on Friday by placing 36th at Seattle Golf Club.
The 2015 CGA Match Play champion closed with a 1-over-par 73 on Friday, giving him a 12-over 300 total. Nosewicz (pictured) made a snowman — a triple-bogey 8 — on the seventh hole, but also carded four birdies plus two bogeys.
The last Coloradan to finish better than Nosewicz at the Pac Coast was David Schroeder of Colorado Springs, who placed 12th in 2012.
As for the other Colorado players competing this week, Jon Lindstrom of Broomfield ended up 50th at 305, while University of Denver golfer Chris Korte of Littleton was 63rd at 308.
Wake Forest golfer Will Zalatoris of Plano, Texas claimed the individual title on Friday after defeating Nahum Mendoza of San Diego in a playoff. Both players posted 3-under 285 totals.
