The 2015 winners of three of the CGA’s most prestigious championships will represent the association later this month as the Pacific Coast Amateur is contested for the 50th time.
When Seattle Golf Club hosts the Pac Coast July 26-29, Colorado’s representatives will be Chris Korte of Littleton, Jon Lindstrom of Broomfield and Nick Nosewicz of Aurora.
Last year, University of Denver golfer Korte won the CGA Stroke Play, Lindstrom the CGA Mid-Amateur for the second time, and Nosewicz the CGA Match Play. Lindstrom will be returning to a familiar area as he received his MBA from Seattle Pacific University.
Nosewicz and Korte were amateur teammates for the four-ball competition in the Colorado Cup Matches against the Colorado PGA professionals earlier this month.
The three Coloradans will compete both individually and as a team. In the first two days at the Pac Coast, 15 teams from western U.S. and Canada vie for the Morse Cup. The best two of three scores each day count toward the team total. Then all the players compete all four days in the individual contest.
The CGA team has finished 10th in the Morse Cup each of the past two years.
