Andrew Svoboda, who lived in Golden in 2011 and ’12, came up big in South America on Sunday, recording the third Web.com Tour victory of his career.
Svoboda birdied the final hole Sunday from 6 feet, while Bhavik Patel bogeyed, giving the former Coloradan a one-stroke win in the Brasil Champions in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Svoboda posted rounds of 64-65-65-67 for a 23-under-par 261 total.
The victory was worth $126,000 for the 36-year-old former St. John’s University golfer, who has played 76 events on the PGA Tour and more than 100 on the Web.com circuit. His previous two wins on the Web.com Tour both came in 2013.
