Services will be held Friday (April 1) for former Colorado PGA president Bob McNamee, who passed away Monday in Greeley at age 58.
McNamee’s service will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Greeley (915 12th Street).
McNamee was a PGA professional for more than 30 years, perhaps best known as the first head professional (later director of golf) at Pelican Lakes Golf & Country Club in Windsor. McNamee most recently worked at Boomerang Golf Links in Greeley. His resume also included stints at Highland Hills and as the city of Greeley’s director of golf.
McNamee, a former University of Northern Colorado golfer, played for the first UNC golf team (1978-79) to reach the NCAA Division II Championships. That team was subsequently inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
McNamee served as president of the Colorado PGA in 2003-04 and was named the Section’s Golf Professional of the Year in ’04.
McNamee was born Sept. 3, 1957 in St. Albans, N.Y.
