For nearly a century, the not-for-profit Colorado Golf Association has existed solely to preserve, improve and share all that this great game has to offer with everyone in the state. We serve as the clearing house for all aspects of golf in Colorado, including the official Rules of Golf, which we love to teach and write about. Every eRevision we write a Rules of Golf article to better explain the Rules typically related a current event or recent televised Rules violation. Whether its Tiger Woods getting help from the gallery to move a large boulder, or the proposed ban of anchoring belly and long putters, we try and give you an objective and educational breakdown of each situation.
The USGA, along the R&A, write and interpret the Rules of Golf, and they do an excellent job of educating as well. If you are a member of the USGA you receive an e-newsletter each month that also has a Rules segment in it called the ‘Rules of Golf Explained’. A video link is included in each email visually demonstrating how to apply the Rules. The videos are detailed and go through specific situations in the Rule book about taking relief from a cart path, what you should do if you ball is in a water hazard, out of bounds or unplayable and more. Even if you are not a member of the USGA you can still access these videos on their website.
The CGA is proud to work closely with the USGA to provide you with the tools and opportunities to learn the Rules and enhance your golf experience.
