Austin and Moore Win Third Brassie Title

Janet Moore and Christie Austin of Cherry Hills CC played two outstanding rounds of golf to dominate the competition and win the 2010 CWGA Brassie Championship. Moore and Austin combined to shoot under par both days posting a two-day total of 138, eleven strokes better than the rest of the field. During the first round, Moore and Austin shot a bogey-free round, carding four birdies in the process, to give them a sizzling score of 68. That score set them seven strokes ahead of the rest of the Championship flight to start round two. Moore and Austin started off strong with birdies on holes two, three and four. Additional birdies on the eighth and fourteenth holes assisted them in shooting a two-under par 70. Nobody even came close to the duo who claimed their third Brassie title, winning together previously in 1994 and again in 2001. Defending champions Stacey Arnold and D’Ann Kimbrel, both of Willis Case GC, finished the tournament with a two-day total of 149.
