Paige Spiranac of Mixed Stix earned her first CWGA Championship title in an impressive wire-to-wire victory. Spiranac fired three consecutive rounds under par including an opening round of a sizzling 66. Spiranac carded eight birdies during the first round of play with a string of four birdies in a row to finish out the front nine five under par. Spiranac held a three stroke lead over Glenmoor CC’s Claudia Davis after the first round. During the second round of play, Spiranac, a little shaky after bogeys on the first two holes, found her groove on holes four through six where she posted two birdies and an eagle. Spiranac finished with a four-under-par round of 69 to keep a seven stroke lead over Shinwoo Lee of Kennedy GC who also shot a second-day round of 69. During a rainy final round, Spiranac posted another round under par carding three birdies and two bogeys to finish with a one-under-par score of 72.
Paige Spiranac finished with a three-day score of 207, ten shots ahead of runner-up Shinwoo Lee. Lindsay McGetrick, the 2010 CWGA Junior Match Play Champion, was only one stroke behind Lee to take a solo third place finish with a three-day score of 218. Meadows GC member Shannon Lubar finished in fourth place with a total score of 223, followed by Claudia Davis with a 224 total score.
