The 2005 CGA championship season got underway with the CGA State Net Four Ball Championship hosted by the prestigious Lone Tree Golf Club. Dev Mahanti (Applewood GC) teamed up with Michael Anderson (Saddle Rock GC) to fire an opening round of net 60, then closed with a final round score of 59 to win the Open Division with an impressive score of 119 (25 under par). The winning duo combined for five net eagles and 16 net birdies in the 36-hole championship. Matt Kolding and Jeff Bernard (Pinery CC) combined for a net 60 in the final round to earn second place at 125. Taylor Zimbelman and Joe Jemsek (Green Valley Ranch GC) finished third at 129.
In the Senior Division, Bill Irwin (Breckenridge GC) and partner Charles Upton (Indian Tree GC) fired a 13-under net 59 in the final round to capture the title at 125. Ron Scholes and Charles Stevens (Fitxsimons GC) matched the leaders’ final round of 59 to move into a second place tie with John O’Loughlin and Ernie Ferguson (Coal Creek GC) at 127.
