The team of Steve Irwin and Pat Diaz of Lakewood CC combined for a 64 in the final round for a 131 total to earn a one-stroke victory in the 2004 CGA State Four Ball Championship at Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch. Irwin, son of Champions Tour star Hale, is both the current CGA Mid-Amateur and the CGA State Match Play champion. Rick DeWitt of West Woods GC eagled the 18th hole from 161yards to pull he and partner Henry Bissell into a second place tie at 132 with the Meadow Hills GC team of Dean Clapp and Jim Doidge. Michael Glaesel and Steve Murphy of Indian Tree GC took fourth at 134.
In the Senior Division, six-time CGA Senior Player of the Year John Olive teamed up with Tim Glasgow of The Ranch CC to take the title at 131, two stroke ahead of runners-up Kelly Crone and Larry Netherton playing on their home course. Three teams tied for third place at 137.
