Rick DeWitt of West Woods Golf Club was the only player to finish under par (3 under 213) in a dominating six-stroke victory in the CGA Mid-Amateur Championship at the historic and challenging Broadmoor Golf Club. The win is DeWitt’s third straight CGA Mid-Amateur title. The championship was played on the East Course the first day, the West Course on the second day, and the East Course on the final day. DeWitt played the East Course five-under (69 and 70), and shot a two-over 74 on the West Course (no players were under par in the second round). The field was cut for the final round to the low 40 players (plus ties) at 160. Current CGA Senior Stroke and Match Play champion John Olive, playing on his home course, fired a two-under 70 in the final round to take second at 219. Bill Fowler of Rolling Hills Country Club, Mark Franz of Saddle Rock Golf Course, and Mike Glaesel of Indian Tree Golf Course tied for third place at 223.
