Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course – Rick DeWitt of West Woods Golf Club (pictured) birdied number 18 at Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course to finish at 210 and win the 1999 CGA Mid-Amateur Championship by one stroke. The win marks DeWitt’s fourth CGA Mid-Amateur Championship title, and his fifth CGA championship win this season. DeWitt already has victories this year in the CGA Four-Ball (with Michael Glaesel), Public-Links, Western Chapter, and Stroke Play Championships. Gary Kephart of Eisenhower Golf Club came in 15 minutes before DeWitt with the day’s low round of 69 to finish at 211, and he watched from the clubhouse as DeWitt two-putted from 35 feet on 18 to take the title. Kephart received the CGA Silver Medal for his second place finish. Shane Houska of Collindale Golf Course fired a two-under 70 in the final round to come in at 212 and take third. Fourth place was earned by Todd Curlee of Sterling Country Club, who shot 71 to finish at 214. Michael Glaesel of Indian Tree Golf Course (215), as determined by a playoff , finished fifth over John Zerwin of The Ranch Country Club.
